New Castle lawyer on crime drama

New Castle attorney and Vindicator contributing columnist Matthew T. Mangino will be featured on tonight’s episode of the television crime series “My Dirty Little Secrets.” The show airs at 9 p.m. on Investigation Discovery.

The hourlong episode, titled “The Stripper’s Secret,” tells the story of Ben Novak, whose bound and brutally beaten body was found in a New York hotel room. Novak was heir to the Miami Beach Fontainebleau Hotel fortune and his 2009 slaying made national headlines.

Mangino was interviewed along with investigators, friends and acquaintances of the victim. Although he was not directly involved in the case, Mangino was sought out by the show’s producer to provide expert commentary on its investigation and prosecution.

Each episode of the series looks at a different case, and Mangino also will appear on two other episodes this season: Jan. 22 and Feb. 12. He is taping a fourth episode later this month.

Mangino is an attorney with Luxenberg, Garbett, Kelly and George, P.C. He is the former district attorney of Lawrence County and a former member of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.
