Warming centers open in Columbiana County
LISBON — The Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency building at 215 S. Market St., is open for shelter today and as long as needed.
Also, David Anderson High School, 260 W. Pine St., Lisbon, is a shelter and will be open through the night, said Lisa Elliott, EMA administrative assistant. Red Cross personnel has been deployed to the EMA and the agency is in the process of opening a secondary shelter.
In addition, Elliott said, United Local High School, 8143 state Route 9, Hanoverton, is providing a warming station until 3 p.m. today.
Power went was lost at 8 a.m. in the Lisbon and Hanoverton area electricity was back on by 10 a.m. However, in the area north of Lisbon along state Route 45 some 1,500 Ohio Edison customers were still without power at noon, but it was expected to be back on line around 12:30 p.m.
People who have an emergency are urged to call 911. Those who required assistance, special needs or transportation may call the EMA at 330-424-9725.
