Salvation Army opens warming center in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — The Salvation Army of Mahoning County, 1501 Glenwood Ave., has opened its doors as a warming center to anyone seeking relief from the frigid temperatures.

The warming center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and will remain open as long as the “deep freeze lingers in our area,” said Maj. Elijah Kahn, Mahoning County coordinator.

Also, hot meals are served between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., and hot coffee and chocolate are provided throughout the day. For information, call Salvation Army Mahoning County Area Services at 330-270-5999.
