Mangino leaving YSU for Iowa State

Youngstown State assistant coach Mark Mangino is headed to Iowa State to become the Cyclones' offensive coordinator.

Mangino spent the past year as the Penguins' tight ends coach/associated head coach. He also served as the team's recruiting coordinator. It was his first year back in coaching since 2009.

The Iowa State job puts Mangino back in the Big 12 conference, where he had success as the head coach at Kansas (2002-09) and as the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma (1999-2001) and Kansas State (1991-98).

Mangino is a New Castle native and a Youngstown State graduate.
