Hubbard woman charged with theft

Police have charged a former Westminster College mailroom supervisor with stealing items from the mail.

Debra Sue White, 59, of South Main Street in Hubbard was charged with theft and receiving stolen property by New Wilmington Police Dec. 31.

Police said White took 55 pieces of mail between March 1, 2010, and May 16, 2011. She stole mail with the intent of taking items of value such as cash, gift cards and lottery tickets, police said.

An investigation began in 2010 when other college staff members found a bundle of mail under White’s desk, police said.

The college fired White May 16, 2011.
