Boardman woman arrested on felonious assault, domestic violence charges

BOARDMAN — A 20-year-old Boardman woman was arrested by Boardman police on Sunday after a fight broke out between her and her child’s father.

Daniecia Turner of Red Fox Drive is charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.

She will appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 7.

Police were called to an Erie Street residence just after 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The victim told police he argued with Turner over having a winter coat for the son they have together. The fight escalated when Turner supposedly swung a trophy at a vehicle and grabbed kitchen knives to threaten him with, according to a police report.

With help from someone else at the scene, the victim tackled Turner to the ground, according to a police report.

Turner told police she was defending herself in the incident.

The victim and Turner sustained minor injuries in the fight.

Turner is in Mahoning County Jail until her court arraignment.
