Ski trip to the Peak
The public is invited to join the Good Times Ski and Snowboard Club Wednesday as they travel to Peek ’n’ Peak in Findley Lake, N.Y. The bus will depart at 7 a.m. from Lowe’s parking lot, Niles Cortland Road, Warren, and will return by 9 p.m. after a full day on the slopes. Anyone interested in learning more about this, or any other, upcoming trip is invited to call Terry Shifflet at 330-638-0513. Coats, gloves, hats blankets needed

The Salvation Army will be accepting donations of new hats, gloves, coats and blankets from 1 to 3 p.m. today at its facility at 270 Franklin Ave. S.E., after the Sunday morning worship service. The items will be distributed starting at 9 a.m. Monday at the facility while supplies last. The organization has already given nearly 500 coats to children so far this year, with the help of Ronald McDonald House Charities, but wants to help others in need as the area braces for freezing temperatures forecast for this week.
Youth choir open to new members
WARREN
The Warren Citywide Youth Choir will be singing at the annual Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Youth Celebration hosted by the Trumbull County Dream Team at New Jerusalem Fellowship Church here at 7 p.m. Jan. 17. This past year, the choir hosted its third-annual summer concert through which it raised more than $5,000 toward the current scholarship. It also opened for national gospel recording artist and Grammy Award- winner Israel Houghton and New Breed at W.D. Packard Music Hall. This will be the choir’s first performance of 2014, and new members are welcome to join. The choir is open to all youths and young adults from the Warren area. Choir organizer and director is Pastor Todd Johnson.
Fire destroys house
WARREN
The cause of an Saturday morning fire that destroyed a house at 1091 Elm Road remains under investigation. Firefighters were called to the fire about 2:30 a.m. No one was home and no injuries were reported.
