Tea Party candidate’s running mate has history of financial woes
YOUNGSTOWN — Brenda L. Mack of Canfield — the running mate of a former state tea party leader challenging incumbent Gov. John Kasich in the Republican primary — has a history of financial problems.
Mack’s problems include a 2002 Chapter 13 personal bankruptcy filing, a 2008 Chapter 7 bankruptcy of a cleaning business she owned with the company owing more than $100,000 to various creditors, failure to pay about $20,000 in state taxes, and a 2002 conviction in Mahoning County Court in Boardman for passing bad checks that included a 180-day suspended jail sentence.
