Neighbors | Submitted.Members of the Boardman PANDA clubs, from Boardman Glenwood and Center Middle Schools, as well as Boardman High School, worked together to host its first PANDA Connection to benefit Hope House Dec. 18.

This holiday season the Boardman PANDA program had its first annual PANDA Connection to give to those in need Dec. 18. PANDA stands for Preventing And Neutralizing Drug and Alcohol Abuse.

Clubs from Center and Glenwood Middle Schools and Boardman High School came together to collect items for the Hope House. PANDA members brought items such as paper towels, toiletries and craft kits and wrapped eight boxes of items to be sent to Hope House along with homemade cards.

The event also consisted of team building activities. Teams had to work together to get everyone in the group across a hallway using carpet squares and had to figure out a maze without talking to each other. A “human ladder” activity encouraged teamwork and taught trust.

PANDA clubs have various service projects throughout the year and were proud to support Hope House through the PANDA Connection.

Boardman middle and high school students who are interested in joining are encouraged to talk to members or advisors.
