Columbus police: Self-defense claimed in fatal stabbing

COLUMBUS (AP) — Columbus police say they believe a man acted in self-defense when he fatally stabbed another man on the city’s northeast side earlier this week.

Police said today that no charges will be filed against the 53-year-old man who killed 44-year-old William Justis early Tuesday. But investigators say they are forwarding the case to the county prosecutor’s office for review.

Justis was stabbed in the upper chest, and police said the suspect waited at the scene afterward and was taken into custody.
