Bird in the Hand

When: Saturday, 9 to 10 a.m.

What: Black-capped chickadees are inquisitive birds that can sometimes be coaxed into landing on your hand — especially if you tempt them with food. Join Nancy Brundage, an Ohio-certified volunteer naturalist, at this unique annual program. We’ll provide the birdseed.

Digital Scavenger Hunt

When: Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

What: Start 2014 by searching for nature’s hidden treasures. Check in at Ford Nature Center for a list of nature items to track down and document with a camera or phone. Everyone welcome, but especially recommended for families with older children.

Crop Planning, Seasonal Production

When: Tuesday, 6-8 p.m.

What: Farmer John Moreira will teach about the benefits of planning for a profitable harvest.
