Forum on marijuana
LOWELLVILLE
The potential impact of House Joint Resolution 6, Ohio’s proposed marijuana legislation that could allow people 21 or older to purchase and consume marijuana, will be the topic of a workshop Friday at Lowellville High School.
It will be led by Brenda Heidinger, from the Mahoning County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board, and Angela McClellan, from the Coalition for a Drug-Free Mahoning County. They will discuss what passage of the bill could mean for the state’s employers, law enforcement, businesses, students and schools. The workshop is open to the public. It will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the high school’s band room, and will last about one hour.
Theft at Walmart
BOARDMAN
Township police arrested a 51-year-old Youngstown woman Monday after officials at Walmart on Doral Drive accused her of theft. Jacqueline Gray, 51, of Auburndale Avenue is charged with misdemeanor theft.
Walmart loss-prevention officials say Gray chose multiple children’s items, including a tricycle, desk and easel and clothes, to steal. The items were valued at $70.
Loss prevention says Gray concealed the clothing and went to customer service to exchange the merchandise for a Walmart gift card. She then selected more merchandise to pay for with the gift card.
