A portion of Interstate 680 north between Market Street and Glenwood Avenue was shut down because of a two-vehicle accident about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

At least one person was taken to the hospital after the accident, in which a van and sport utility vehicle collided, according to Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV.

A police spokesman said the van was traveling the wrong way on the interstate when it collided with the SUV.

Efforts to get more information from police later Tuesday were unsuccessful.
