Mardi Gras party will aid those in need

SOPHIA is sponsoring a Mardi Gras party from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wean Foundation Building, 147 E. Market Street.

Stop One Place Help Is Available is a nonprofit organization based at the First Presbyterian Church. The mission is to help the less fortunate in the county with such things as utility bills and other needs.

The program is partly funded by a grant from the Wean Foundation’s Neighborhood Success and Leadership Program.

Food, prizes and entertainment are included in this family-friendly event. Suggested donations are $15 per person and $25 per couple. Go in costume to enhance the fun.
