Apple Castle schedules program on pruning


NEW WILMINGTON, PA.

Apple Castle, a family-owned farm and farmers market at 277 state Route 18, will be the site of a pruning demonstration from 10 a.m. to noon March 8. The demonstration will show first-hand the pruning principles and philosophies used at Apple Castle.

Lyle and Steven Johnston, owners of the Apple Castle, and Tim Warrick, orchard manager, will lead the program. The cost is $5 per person, and the proceeds will be donated to the State Horticultural Association of Pennsylvania.

Those attending should dress for the weather and be advised that terrain will be uneven.
