Evidence gathered will go to grand jury

SALEM

Authorities say evidence gathered during a raid Wednesday at a home at 922 W. Pershing St., suspected to be a methamphetamine lab, will be submitted to a grand jury to determine if charges will be filed.

According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, members of the Columbiana County Drug Task Force said they found suspected heroin and materials that could be used to make methamphetamine. The home was occupied by a woman and her adult son.

Last year, authorities raided five suspected meth labs in Salem, WFMJ reported.

Man faces charges

CAMPBELL

A 47-year-old 10th Street man will appear in Campbell Muncipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday to answer to two charges each of criminal trespass and criminal damaging for slashing the tires and breaking a window of a Murray Avenue resident’s car.

The two incidents took place hours apart Tuesday afternoon, and when police responded to a report of the second incident, they found David Garcia Cuadrado standing in the middle of the road, flailing his arms, screaming and turning in circles. Cars driving on the road had to swerve to avoid Cuadrado, who lunged farther into the street each time a car passed.

When approached by police, Cuadrado repeatedly refused to comply with any requests to calm down or answer questions. Police arrested him and also charged him with resisting arrest.

Cuadrado was then taken to the Mahoning County jail, where he will await his court date. He was held on a bond of $4,750, 10 percent cash or surety.
