Multivehicle crashes cause temporary closure of I-80 in Mercer County

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said one westbound lane of Interstate 80 in Mercer County is closed for two miles near Exit 15 (Route 19, Mercer) to allow emergency vehicles to use the passing lane to reach a multiple-vehicle accident in the eastbound lanes.

Also, I-80 eastbound in Mercer is closed from Exit 4A (Sharon) to Exit 15 (Route 19, Mercer) because of that same accident.

The lane restrictions are expected to be lifted between 1:30 and 2 p.m.
