Campbell man faces criminal trespass charge

CAMPBELL

A 47-year-old 10th Street man faces several charges — including criminal trespass and criminal damaging — after being arrested Tuesday afternoon for slashing the tires and breaking a window of a Murray Avenue resident’s car.

At about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, city police on patrol were stopped by the resident, who said an unwanted man — identified as David Garcia Cuadrado — was walking toward his residence. He also told police that Cuadrado had been at his residence on Monday too, and that police had issued a trespass warning to Cuadrado then.

Police issued Cuadrado another trespass warning and he left the area. About five minutes later, however, police noticed Cuadrado walking away from the Murray Avenue resident’s car. Cuadrado admitted he had slashed the car’s tires, and police placed him under arrest for criminal trespass and criminal damaging.

Cuadrado was given a Campbell Municipal Court date of 9 a.m. Friday, then released on his own recognizance because of extensive medical issues.

Barely two hours later, police received another call from the Murray Avenue resident, who said Cuadrado had just broken out a window on his car.

Police again responded to the area, and found Cuadrado standing in the middle of the road, flailing his arms, screaming and turning in circles. Cars driving on the road had to swerve to avoid Cuadrado, who lunged farther into the street each time a car passed.

When approached by police, Cuadrado repeatedly said everything was OK, but refused to comply with any requests to calm down or answer questions.

He continually attempted to walk away from police as well, and was eventually placed under arrest for criminal damaging and criminal trespass. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

At the Campbell Police Department, Cuadrado remained uncooperative, according to the police report.

Cuadrado was takento the Mahoning County jail, where he will await his court date. He was held on a bond of $4,750, 10 percent cash or surety.
