Captured after chase

YOUNGSTOWN

A 55-year-old woman was taken to the Mahoning County jail after leading police on a vehicle and foot chase about 10:20 a.m. Sunday on the South Side.

Reports said an officer spotted a car being driven by Vivian Leigh Stanley of Youngstown traveling at high speed as she was driving south on Hillman Avenue. When the officer tried to pull the car over, it went even faster.

The officer followed the car to a driveway on East Florida Avenue, where the car stopped and Stanley ran away. Two people inside the car got out with their hands up and were ordered to stay by the car as officers chased the driver, but they both ran away, reports said.

Stanley was caught at the corner of East Florida and Trenton avenues. Of the passengers, a male ran away but later was caught and released. There was no sign of the other passenger, a woman, reports said.
