Joanie Abdu Breast Care Center garners national award

YOUNGSTOWN — Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, affiliated with St. Elizabeth Health Center, is one of America’s Best Breast Centers, according to Women’s Choice, which identifies services women most recommend and trust.

“Breast care is extremely vital to women’s health, and we want them to know that Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center has met the highest standards in caring for the needs of their female patients,” Delia Passi, CEO and founder of WomenCertified, home of the Women’s Choice Award, said in a press release.

“At St. Elizabeth Health Center, we are deeply honored and very proud that the nation’s premier women’s marketing, evaluation and referral service has selected the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center to be the [Mahoning] Valley’s first recipient of the Women’s Choice Award,” said Don Koenig, executive vice president of operations, Humility of Mary Health Partners.

Dr. Rashid Abdu was the driving force behind development of the center, inspired by his wife, Joanie, who died of breast cancer in 1994.
