Lions Club taking scholarship requests

BOARDMAN

The Boardman Lions Club will award two $1,000 scholarships in the spring of 2014 to two graduating seniors who are residents of Boardman and will attend a four-year college to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

Additional requirements include a minimum grade-point average of 3.0, 30 hours of community service per year from the sophomore year on, two recommendations and a personal essay.

Any graduating senior who lives in Boardman will be considered, regardless of high school.

Scholarships will be selected by the scholarship committee based on academic success, volunteer service and recommendations.

Awards will be announced at the time of graduation.
