Melanie Cope of Howland and William Charles Yartz III of Champion are engaged, her parents are announcing.

Beverly and Douglas Cope of Howland are her parents, and Bobbi and William Yartz Jr. of Champion are his parents.

Champion Christian Church will be the setting of the 3:30 p.m. Oct. 4 ceremony, and a reception will follow at Sorrento’s Banquet Hall in Warren. Invitations will be extended for both.

The bride-elect is studying accounting at Kent State University. She works in the Kent State Budget Office.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Stark State College and works for Ohio Edison in Youngstown.
