ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet at 7 p.m. March 3 at St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. Corned beef and cabbage will be served, and Eileen Gilmartin, also known as Casey Malone, will address the theme “Old World Traditions Lost and Retained — Irish. Cultural enrichment will be provided by Michael Shaffer and his brothers, who will play and sing Irish melodies. Memberships, which run from Sept. 2013 to June 2014, continue at $25 per person. The cost for each meeting is $15 for paid members and $20 for nonmembers. Reservations should be mailed to OCA, PO Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406, no later than Tuesday. Those attending are encouraged to take cleaning supplies and paper products for Habitat for Humanity.

ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 10 a.m. March 1 in the gathering room of Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. After the continental breakfast and business meeting, Dr. Diana Fagan, professor of molecular biology and microbiology at Youngstown State University, will talk about using viruses to produce sensors for infectious organism and bio-terrorism agents. American Business Women’s Association, Mill Creek Chapter, will meet at 6 p.m. March 11 at Caffe Capri, 8000 Market St., Boardman. Mandy Codespote will pass the torch to Marilyn Abramski, the newly elected Woman of the Year. The menu includes chicken parmigiana, penne and sauce, mixed Italian vegetables, salad, rolls, coffee or tea, and dessert. The cost is $19 per person, and guests are welcome. CLUBS

Boardman Poland Juniorettes will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room of the Boardman Library. The Juniorettes are a group of girls 12 through 18 from any school in the Valley who volunteer in the community. They will be cutting and sorting coupons to be donated to military families living on military bases abroad. Brush Knife Needle Folks will meet from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Inn at the Canfield Fairgrounds. The meeting date was changed because of bad weather. A speaker from Gardening Indoors will demonstrate how to grow herbs indoors in winter. Guests are welcome.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Austintown Friends of the Library will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the library community room. The speaker will be Jessica Borza, executive director of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition. A brief meeting will follow.

POLITICAL CLUBS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club luncheon is set for noon March 5 at A La Cart Catering, Lisbon Street in Canfield. The menu will consist of tossed salad, red sauce, vegetable lasagna, broccoli and creme de menthe parfait. A large salad with chicken also is available. The cost is $12 per person. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Altar and Rosary Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the rosary, and a meeting will follow in the church hall.

Youngstown South Women’s Christian Connection will meet for a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 12 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield.
