Ex-cop faces charge

NILES

Jeff Miller, 49, of Salt Springs Road in Mineral Ridge, a former Warren police patrolman, was arraigned Tuesday in Niles Municipal Court on a misdemeanor domestic-violence charge.

He was released after Judge Thomas Townley approved a temporary restraining order involving Miller’s wife, Stephanie.

Weathersfield police were called at 8:37 p.m. Feb. 14 to the St. Elizabeth emergency facility in Austintown, where Stephanie Miller reported being injured by her husband during an argument that involved Miller throwing a cellphone at her back.

The Warren Police Department fired Jeff Miller in December 2012 after he was arrested for a probation violation stemming from a 2011 Boardman car accident in which he was charged with driving a motor vehicle impaired. He was later convicted of the lesser charge of reckless operation.
