Winter grazing workshops set for NEO

Winter Grazing Workshops are planned for the fourth Thursday of this month and March at the Carrollton Ponderosa, 1117 Canton Road NW, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the back conference room.

Guests are welcome to eat at the restaurant before the workshop, but at their own expense.

Topics at the Feb. 27 meeting are fertilizing pastures, liquid versus dry fertilizer, and utilizing RyzUp Plant Growth Regulator to stimulate spring and fall pasture growth.

Speakers are Charlie Kail, an agronomist at Carrollton Farmers Exchange, and Bill Haddad, a field representative with Valent USA Corp., a leading crop protection firm.

Another winter grazing workshop will take place March 27.

The workshop is presented by the Eastern Ohio Grazing Council in cooperation with Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Jefferson, Mahoning, Stark and Tuscarawas Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
