Poland Kindergarten registration

A registration for children entering Poland Local Schools kindergarten this fall will be March 1 and 8. Children presently enrolled in kindergarten do not need to register for the first grade.

All kindergarten registration will be at Union Elementary School, located at 30 Riverside Drive, from 9 a.m. until noon. There are no guarantees as to which school your child will attend in the fall. Attendance will be based on enrollment numbers. Registration for the preschool and afterschool care program will also take place. New students entering Poland schools next fall in grades 1-4 may register at this time also. It is not necessary to bring your child or siblings to the registration process.

Parents or guardians must provide the following information and original copies are preferred (without these documents, your child will not be able to register): The child’s original, raised seal birth certificate and Social Security Card, immunization records, proof of residency (mortgage documents, house closing papers or rental aggreement), parent identification (driver’s license and two current utility bills or credit card statements) and custody papers, if applicable. No registration papers will be given out before March 1.

A child entering Kindergarten must be five years of age on or before Aug. 1 to be eligible for admission. Those entering first grade must be six years of age on or before Aug. 1. If your child attended another school for Kindergarten and has a birthday after Aug. 1, you will be refered to the school psychologist before your child is enrolled.

A screening program is planned for April 7-8. Parents will be given an appointment time for the screening during the registration process. It is important that all incoming kindergarten students are registered and screened. For questions, call North secretary Mrs. Morrow at 330-757-7008.
