LCCTC offers oil and gas industry course

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Lawrence County Career and Technical Center, 750 Phelps Way, is offering a 40-hour, one- to two-week course designed to help displaced or unemployed workers find a career in the oil and gas industry.

The course, starting March 24, focuses on general information, safety, terminology and industry regulations.

If time allows, industry experts will be available to offer insight into the industry and their particular field of expertise.

More information will be available during an oil and gas presentation at the LCCTC open house at 6 p.m. Wednesday and at an LCCTC oil and gas seminar at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24.

Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate, and they must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

The course is approved by the state of Pennsylvania and was developed with the Pennsylvania Independent Oil and Gas Association and oil and gas industry leaders.
