Hearts, Stars Ball to boost Salem hospital

Tickets are on sale for the fourth annual Hearts and Stars Ball, A Night on Broadway.

The event will take place Feb. 22 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road.

The ball is sponsored by Salem Regional Medical Center’s Charitable Foundation, and the evening will feature dinner, a silent auction and entertainment by Mary Jo Maluso and Rick Blackson.

Rita Joseph O’Leary will be recognized as the 2014 Shining Star honoree. O’Leary is a Salem native who is a community volunteer and has served as co-chairwoman of the International Festival. She was a member of the community relations board at the federal prison at Elkton and is a member of the St. Paul School Foundation Board. She is a former member of Salem YWCA, is a member and past president of SRMC’s Auxiliary and is a member of its charitable foundation.

All proceeds will benefit the foundation.
