Conference for pastors Thursday in Warren

Mahoning Valley pastors and ministers are invited to a “Help for the Hurting” mini-conference from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Enzo’s Restaurant, 2918 Elm Road. The conference is sponsored by Teen Straight Talk.
Help for the Hurting seeks to explore remedies for the issues that have plagued individuals, families, churches and communities. It is a continuum of last year’s Strengthening the Family conference and a prelude to the event this year, scheduled for June.
Bishop Joey Johnson will be conference facilitator. He is founder and senior pastor of The House of the Lord in Akron, a congregation of 2,000. He is the presiding bishop of the Beth El Fellowship of Visionary Churches.
Cost is $30 per person and includes the conference and dinner. The event is for pastors and ministers only.

Autopsy: no assault
BUTLER, PA.
The Pennsylvania State Police in Butler are asking that anyone with information about the Thursday death of Aaron Loy Cook, 28, of Harrisville, Pa., to contact them at 724-284-8100.
Police said Cook was found at 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the vicinity of Copper and Elm streets in Slippery Rock Borough in Butler County. An autopsy performed Friday determined he did not die as the result of an assault.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Hubbard ramp reopens
HUBBARD
The exit ramp from Interstate 80 westbound to U.S. Route 62 in Hubbard reopened Thursday. The ramp had been shut down since Feb. 4 for emergency repair after a vehicle ran into the bridge over Route 62.
Lordstown meeting

Mercer Dems brunch

Utility assistance

Emergency utility-bill assistance is being offered this winter through the Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, and Winter Crisis Program through March 31.
The program can help eligible households avoid utility disconnection, restore disconnected service, establish new service and purchase fuel oil, propane, coal and wood.
Twenty-five walk-in customers will be seen every morning from 7:30 a.m. until noon. Twenty-five walk-in customers will be seen at 12:30 p.m. Mondays.

Clear graves by March
All artificial flowers and decorations must be removed from the graves, monuments and mausoleum crypts on or before March 1 from Diocese of Youngstown cemeteries, including Calvary and Resurrection cemeteries in Youngstown, All Souls Cemetery in Cortland and Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
Vets eat free Monday

On Presidents Day, Monday, Bob Evans is honoring all veterans and active-military personnel with free all-you-can-eat hotcakes at its restaurants. All they have to do is present a valid military ID.
Bob Evans said veterans are a large portion of its consumers, and according the Department of Veterans Affairs, 8 percent of residents in Bob Evans’ home state of Ohio are veterans.
“It is because of these brave men and women that we continue to enjoy the freedom our Founding Fathers fought for,” said Bob Evans Restaurants President Randy Hicks.
Guests must provide proof of service, which can include: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, current leave and earnings statement, wearing uniform, or veterans organization card such as American Legion and VFW.
