Campbell man charged with drug offenses

Staff report

CAMPBELL

A Wednesday afternoon traffic stop by city police led to the arrest of a Campbell man on multiple drug charges.

Shortly after 1 p.m., police stopped Timothy L. Lee, 34, of Bright Avenue, for speeding on Wilson Avenue.

Lee was unable to produce a driver’s license, vehicle registration and valid proof of insurance, according to a police report.

A records check using his Social Security number revealed that Lee’s driver’s license had been suspended due to multiple traffic violations.

Police inventory of Lee’s car produced, in plain view on the center console, a suspected marijuana cigarette, a spoon without a handle, and a piece of folded-up paper with suspected heroin residue, according to police.

The officer also found a syringe on the car’s floor.

Lee is charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug-abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He also was cited for driving under suspension and for speeding.

Lee is in city jail without bond until his appearance in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. today.
