State seeks criminal evidence at Belinky home
BOARDMAN — Items seized from Mahoning County Probate Judge Mark Belinky’s Boardman home included computers, discs, financial papers, a plane ticket and campaign material.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation used the warrant to search 4032 Windsor Road on Friday.
According to the warrant signed by Judge Joseph M. Houser of Mahoning County Area Court here. all of these are “evidence in the following criminal offenses: Engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity ... tampering with records ... bribery ... money laundering ... theft ... and theft in office.”
Judge Belinky has not been charged with a crime, and he and counsel have declined to comment.
Documents taken from Judge Belinky’s court office in Youngstown, also on Friday, include bank records, campaign finance reports, lists of campaign donors, computers and electronic media, according to the return of a search warrant signed by Judge Elizabeth Kobly of Youngstown Municipal Court.
