Mahoning County Democrats will consider endorsements on Feb. 22

The Mahoning County Democratic Party’s central and executive committees will meet at 11 a.m. Feb. 22 to consider endorsements in the May 6 primary.

The meeting will be at St. Luke’s Banquet Hall, 5235 South Ave., Boardman.

Members of the committees will consider endorsements in contested races for the U.S. House, the state Legislature, countywide offices and the 7th District Court of Appeals.

Democrats in uncontested primary races will be endorsed by acclamation, said Chairman David Betras.

Those who want to be considered for endorsement must notify the party by 4 p.m. Feb. 20. Notifications can be by email to Betras at dbetras@bhlaws.com or by mail to 4011 Hillman Way, Youngstown, OH 44512.

All candidates who filed for the Democratic primary will receive notification of the Feb. 22 meeting by mail as required by the party’s constitution, Betras said.
