CASINO NIGHTS

Berlin Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Casino Night on April 5 at The Georgetown in Boardman. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for dinner, and gaming will take place from 8 to 11. Dinner will be an all-you-can-eat buffet for $50 a ticket.

CRAFT SHOWS

American Legion Post 166, 141 W. Main St., Alliance, is planning its Spring Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22. There will be a variety of vendors, raffles, food, beverages and baked goods.

NIGHTS AT THE RACES

St. Nicholas School will host a Night at the Races (With a Touch of Vegas) on Feb. 22 at the Great Hall, 766 Fifth St., Struthers. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and races begin at 7. The event will feature refreshments, food, quarter draughts and free admission. Among the games will be a basket auction, blackjack, two-card draw, Texas Hold’em and 25 cent and $1 pull tabs. There will be a Texas Hold’em Tournament at 4 p.m. in the lower church. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. It will feature a $50 buy-in and a 25 percent rake. Top players win cash prizes. Salem Community Center’s fifth annual Women’s Night Out will take place March 19. Sponsorship, advertising and vendor tables are now available. The event centers around information, products and services for females of all ages who want to learn ways to take better care of their bodies and minds and improve their lifestyles. St. Michael Church, 300 N. Broad St., Canfield, will host its eighth annual Wine Taste Benefit at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Family Life Center. The event will feature wines from a number of distributors in the region paired with food selections. There also will be auction items up for bid and a cash raffle drawing. Tickets are $55 per person and are available from committee members or the parish office.

Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society Inc. is offering a Cherry Blossom Express Tour from March 30 through April 2. The cost is $869 per person for double occupancy and $969 per person for a single. A motor coach will transport to the hotel, and there will be two days of tours of the Washington, D.C., area. Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a bus trip April 4 to the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo (www.sewingexpo.com) at the Cleveland IX Center. The cost of $33 for members and $37 for nonmembers will include admission, a free class ($19 value), a shopping bag, a commemorative pin and bus transportation. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center is sponsoring a trip to Italy from Sept. 15 to 23. The center is offering a free travel presentation at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday; a free lunch is included. The early booking rate is $2,949, which represents a savings of $250. The trip includes round-trip air fare from Pittsburgh Airport, transportation from Niles to the airport, air taxes and fee surcharges, hotel transfers, seven breakfasts and three dinners. St. Andrewes AME Church Fundraiser Alliance is offering a guided tour of Lancaster, Pa., and Amish country from April 7 through 10. Other features will be a guided tour of Lancaster and Amish country and visits to Kitchen Kettle Village, Landis Valley Museum & Village, the Flight 93 Memorial and Hershey’s Chocolate World.
