Warren woman faces child-endangering charges

WARREN — Chelsey N. Lewis, 24, of Commerce Street Northwest, will be arraigned this afternoon in Warren Municipal Court on two misdemeanor counts of child endangering after police found her children, ages 4 and 2, home alone Sunday night.

Police were called to the home at 10:22 p.m. and found the front door open. Police knocked and the 4-year-old came to the door, saying her 2-year-old brother was upstairs. He was found in his bedroom.

The girl told police her mother left “a while ago and said she was going to the doctor.”

Police were unable to make phone contact with Lewis or the grandmother of the children, so Trumbull County Children Services picked up the children.

Police received another call after midnight regarding Lewis being home, so police arrested her on the two charges.
