Warren fire Sunday causes $20K damage to house, vehicles

WARREN — Damage was about $20,000 to a house and two vehicles in the garage at 659 Phillips Drive Southwest early Sunday.

The fire apparently started in the garage, where a 2004 Dodge Durango and 1988 Toyota MR2 sports car were destroyed, said Ken Nussle, Warren fire chief.

The 4:26 a.m. blaze was out of control by the time the resident noticed smoke and called 911. He got out safely and was not injured.

The fire caused significant damage to the garage and the interior of the home.
