IDs revealed for grandfather and 2 boys killed in Pa. fire
ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities have identified a 68-year-old man and his two young grandsons who died in a northwestern Pennsylvania house fire over the weekend.
Police in Erie County told the Erie Times-News that the victims were John Amacher, 4-year-old Jacob Waldinger and 3-year-old Aidan Waldinger.
Deputy Coroner Korac Timon said all three appeared to have died as a result of the fire, but toxicology and other tests would be done to confirm the cause of death.
The blaze was reported at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Harborcreek Township. Jim Hawryliw, chief of the Fairfield Hose Company, said the multistory house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. They entered and found the bodies of the man and two boys, he said.
