Diana Tremblay, General Motors vice president of global business services, will be the keynote speaker at the 22nd annual ATHENA Award dinner May 22 at Mr. Anthony’s here.
The award recognizes area business and professional women who distinguish themselves in terms of professional achievement, community service and support for professional women.
The dinner is hosted by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and The Vindicator, but additional sponsors are being sought.

Fin Feather Fur to open in Boardman

The sporting-goods and outdoor-supply store Fin Feather Fur Outfitters will occupy the former Value City store on Boardman- Poland Road and hire between 40 and 45 employees, the company announced Monday.
Resumes are being accepted and can be sent to 4080 Belden Village St. NW in Canton, with the note “attention manager.”
The new store, the company’s fourth expansion in three years, is set to open in the spring.
Scholarships offered in oil, gas industry
GRANVILLE
The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation are offering scholarships to students pursuing a career in the state’s oil and natural- gas industry.
Interested students can apply online at oogeep.org, or they can request a hard copy to mail to 1718 Columbus Road SW, Granville, OH 43023. Students will be judged on career goals, an essay, letters of recommendation, academic achievement, special recognitions, awards, community service and outside activities.
Last year, the groups awarded 40 scholarships, and an OOGEEP representative said they plan to issue no fewer in 2014.
YBI to host meeting on metal printing
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown Business Incubator will host an informational meeting about the benefits of metal printing for manufacturing firms from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday.
YBI and Youngstown State University are partnering to help manufacturers take advantage of precision metal parts made by hybrid manufacturing, a process that combines additive manufacturing and traditional manufacturing technologies.
The collaboration will submit a proposal to the Ohio Third Frontier Commission for funding at the end of this month.
