Motorcyclist trainer offers tips for new riders

With spring just around the corner, motorist and motorcyclist trainer Bill English offers these tips to get your permit and license:

Permit:

1. You need to pick up a Motorcycle Operators manual and a digest of motor vehicle Laws. Read both thoroughly prior to taking the test.

2. Take two forms of identification to any exam station and complete the knowledge test.

3. After completion, proceed to a BMV to get a TIPIC (Temporary Permit).

License:

1. Contact a driver exam for an appointment. If you are under 18-years of age, you must have taken a driver education course.

2. You may take a “Basic Rider Course” and the skills test will be waived.
