BOARDMAN — Boardman police and the U.S. Marshal Task Force arrested Joseph Shurtleff Wednesday on multiple drug offense warrants.
Shurtleff, 23, is in the Mahoning County jail.
He is charged with three felony offenses of deception to obtain a dangerous drug.
The U.S. Marshals arrested Shurtleff at his apartment. He was taken to Boardman Police for three active warrants.
On Dec. 12, police were dispatched to Rite Aid in the Boardman Plaza for a drug investigation.
A pharmacist told police a fraudulent prescription for hydrocodone had been filed. The pharmacy called the doctor associated with the prescription and the doctor said he does not call in narcotics prescriptions because he is an emergency room doctor.
The pharmacy did not fill the prescription that time, but one had been filled for 90 hydrocodone pills on Dec. 4. Another prescription was also filled at Walgreen’s on Dec. 2.
Shurtleff was arrested for the same offense in 2011.
