Pedestrian killed in Lawrence County accident

EDINBURG, PA. — A 62-year-old pedestrian suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a westbound car on Benjamin Franklin Highway (U.S. Route 422) Tuesday evening.

Edward Minteer, of Benjamin Franklin Highway, was taken from the crash scene to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, Ardell Biddle, 58, of Pulaski, Pa., told township police he did not see Minteer, who was walking across the road toward his nearby residence at 6:56 p.m. Personnel with the Mahoning County coroner’s office will perform the autopsy, according to a township police report.
