New Castle man charged in slaying

NEW CASTLE, PA.

New Castle police officers arrested Carlos Anthony Thompson, 37, of New Castle on Tuesday and charged him with criminal homicide, murder, robbery and illegal possession of firearms in the shooting death Thursday of Robert Quincy Brown.

Police reported that Thompson confessed the shooting while being questioned at the New Castle Police Department. The suspect is being held in Lawrence County Jail.

About 2 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Sciota Street behind Lutton Automotive and found Brown lying on the ground with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
