Mill Creek Park's Lily Pond reopened for public skating

YOUNGSTOWN — Mill Creek Park’s Lily Pond reopened for ice skating at 3 p.m. today because of colder temperatures in recent days.

Supervised skating will continue there from 3 to 6 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Feb. 23, weather permitting.

The pond opened for ice skating last weekend, but park officials canceled skating there on Sunday because of warmer temperatures.

Benches and a fire pit are being provided, but no skate rentals are available, and participants must bring their own skates.
