Case of woman accused of stabbing sisters sent to grand jury

CAMPBELL

The case of Jessica Gomez, a 30-year-old city woman accused of stabbing her sisters, was bound over to a Mahoning County grand jury Tuesday.

Gomez’s bond also was reduced during her most- recent Campbell Municipal Court appearance — from $250,000 to $50,000 for each of her two counts of felonious assault.

On Jan. 24, city police reported to a Blackburn Street home, after one of Gomez’s sisters told them that she’d been stabbed. Police found blood in the kitchen and living room but no one in the residence.

Police arrested Gomez early Jan. 25, after paramedics notified them that they were treating one of Gomez’s sisters for stab wounds. The other sister was treated for similar injuries.

Gomez, who had bruising and cuts on her body, said she had been defending herself from attacks by her sisters.
