A summary of recent police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Jan. 18

Unauthorized use: Unauthorized charges were made to a checking account at a home in the 200 block of Neff Drive.

Jan. 23

Criminal trespassing: Matthew Krivnack, 22, of Timber Run Court, was arrested on two counts of criminal trespassing.

Jan. 26

Misuse of credit card: Sean Cline, 43, of Hickory Hollow, was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misuse of a credit card.

Jan. 27

Drug abuse: April Wagner, 36, of Canton was arrested on charges of drug abuse and drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 28

Warrant: Shawna Roberts, 28, of North Hazelwood Avenue, Youngstown was arrested on a warrant from Columbiana County Sheriff for passing bad checks.

Jan. 31

Drug abuse: Corey Sheely, 22, of Berlin Station Road, Berlin Center, was arrested on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 2

Drugs: Christopher Helffrich, 19, of Canton was arrested on charges of drug paraphernalia, Rachael Humphrey, 31, of Canton, on drug abuse, and Chad Kelly, 36, of Alliance, on drug abuse.

AUSTINTOWN

Jan. 27

Theft: A microwave and other unknown items were stolen at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Weapons offense: James Morton, 46, of Black Oak Lane, was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm on a liquor premises.

Jan. 28

Breaking and entering: Damage was done to door locks but no entry was gained at Cashland, 4805 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Damage to mailboxes for apartment buildings was reported in the Deer Creek Apartments, 4415 Kirk Road.

Assault: A customer was assaulted by another customer at the U.S. Postal Service, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Lost or stolen property: An Ohio license plate was lost or stolen at Aaron’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A washing machine was taken and a central air-conditioning unit was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Evelyn Avenue.

Jan. 29

Theft: Alan Glass, 63, of McGuffey Road, Youngstown was issued a summons for theft at Marc’s, 4755 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Gary Heffner, 65, of Atlanta Avenue, was issued a summons for shoplifting at Marc’s.

Theft: A woman’s purse was taken from a shopping cart at Walmart.

Theft: A dealer plate was taken from an auto at Austintown Chrysler, 4850 Mahoning Ave.

Vandalism: A vehicle window was damaged at Home City Ice, 3733 Parkwood Ave.

Theft: A purse was stolen at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 30

Warrant: Bonita Davis, 53, South Hazelwood Avenue was arrested on a warrant for theft at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at a home in the 40 block of Parkgate Avenue.

Jan. 31

Aggravated robbery: A female was robbed of medication by two males in the 4000 block of New Road.

Drug offense: Ethan Jones, 19, of Mary Place, Youngstown was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

Feb. 1

Warrant: Dave Buchanan, 41, of Callaway Circle was arrested on a warrant for theft and criminal trespass.

Theft: An elderly female’s purse was taken and the credit cards used at Cracker Barrel, 5600 Interstate Blvd.

Theft: A 9mm Cobray gun was stolen at Buckeye Firearms, 5466 Mahoning Ave. Video of the store is being reviewed.

Theft: An unknown amount of groceries was stolen at Rulli Bros., 4331 Kirk Road.

Feb. 2

Aggravated menacing: Menacing was reported at an apartment in the 1000 block of Laurie Drive.

Assault on a police officer: Theresa Estes, 30, of North Ward Avenue, Girard was arrested on charges of assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Theft: A snowblower was stolen from the carport of a home in the 50 block of Westminster Avenue.

Fraud: An account was opened in the victim’s name at a home in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Weapons offense: Shannon Lowther, 35, of North Navarre Avenue, was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, aggravated menacing and aggravated trespassing. Shots had been fired in the front yard in the 40 block of Placid Boulevard, and the suspect was stopped in her vehicle.

Drug offense: Michael Collin, 38, of Hubbard-Bedford Road, Hubbard, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.

Drug offense: Dyan Starr, 25, of Oak Knoll Southeast, Warren, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
