Mahoning County commissioners take under adivisement Canfield annexation issue
CANFIELD — The Mahoning County commissioners have taken under advisement a proposal to annex 18.6 acres of vacant land from Canfield Township to the city of Canfield for construction of a $10 million, 70-bed Windsor House nursing home.
Annexation is required to obtain city water and sanitary sewer connections necessary for such a project.
The land is bounded on the north by state Route 446 and on its west, south and east sides by the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm.
The commissioners conducted a public hearing this morning at the Canfield Township Hall on the annexation, which was sought by John J. Masternick, president and chief executive officer of the Girard-based Windsor House nursing home and assisted living chain.
