Governor candidates to discuss issues at forum

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Several Democrats running to be the next governor of Pennsylvania will answer questions about jobs, innovation and economic development at a candidates forum.

Former state environmental protection secretaries Katie McGinty and John Hanger; state Treasurer Rob McCord; York businessman Tom Wolf; and U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz are expected to participate in the event in Philadelphia.

This morning’s forum is sponsored by the non-partisan Philadelphia Business Journal and WHYY. It comes a day after Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski dropped out the race, citing fundraising issues.

Later today, Republican Gov. Tom Corbett is scheduled to lay out his proposed state budget in an address to the Legislature.
