Postal Service proposes to relocate the Cornersburg Post Office

YOUNGSTOWN

The U.S. Postal Service proposes to relocate the Cornersburg Post Office, 3375 Canfield Road, to a yet-to-be determined location within the 44511 Zip Code.

The post office said in a notice posted on the door of the long-time shopping plaza location that the change would have no impact on mail delivery and that post office box numbers and ZIP Codes would not change.

The matter has been placed on the public discussion agenda for the 5:30 p.m. Wednesday Youngstown City Council meeting on the sixth floor of City Hall.

In the notice and a news release, the post office did not specifically explain its rationales for the proposed change.

The post office will accept written comments on the proposed move until Feb. 20.
