Ice skating at Lily Pond scrubbed until further notice

YOUNGSTOWN

Mill Creek Metroparks closed the Lily Pond to ice skaters Sunday because of higher temperatures over the weekend that weakened the ice. It will remain closed until further notice.

“The safety of our visitors is of the utmost importance, and we are hoping that below-freezing temperatures over the next week will permit us to open the Lily Pond to skaters next weekend,” the MetroParks said in a news release.
