CAMPBELL

A traffic stop for a nonworking license plate light led to the arrest of two people on drug charges.

Georgianna Lynch, 27, of Kendis Circle in Youngstown, and Stanley L. Wallace, 31, of Poplar Avenue in Hubbard, were charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Wallace was also cited for the nonworking light.

Police stopped the truck driven by Wallace on Lettie Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

While explaining to Wallace the reason for the stop and obtaining Wallace’s driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance, police spotted a wooden “one-hitter” in plain view atop the console.

Police then found 1.4 grams of suspected marijuana on Wallace, along with 4.1 grams of suspected marijuana on Lynch. A search of the car revealed 1 gram of suspected marijuana in an orange pill bottle and a metal grinder with suspected marijuana residue inside of it.

Both Wallace and Lynch are set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Also, a 21-year-old Pittsburgh man now faces drug charges after being stopped by city police late Friday for having a vision obstruction across the front windshield of his car.

Ansel Harlowe Morsillo, of Latonia Avenue, was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited, too, for not having a clear view to the front.

When police pulled over Morsillo shortly after 7 p.m. Friday on McCartney Road, they noticed him being overly nervous, with his hands shaking so severely that he had trouble removing his driver’s license from his wallet. Police also smelled a faint odor of marijuana coming from inside of the car.

A police dog from the Youngstown Police Department was called to the scene, and alerted police of the presence of drugs in the car. Police then found a glass pipe and stainless steel marijuana grinder containing 0.6 grams of suspected marijuana in the center console.

Morsillo said both items were his. He was arrested, and given a Campbell Municipal Court date of 9 a.m. Tuesday.
