St. Vincent de Paul winter gala fundraiser

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Mahoning County will sponsor its annual winter gala fundraiser, which helps support the operation of the dining hall and soup kitchen. The society also offers a backpack giveaway in August for children whose families use the dining hall and food pantry. The society also partners with Youngstown Afterschool Alliance to provide the Afterschool Snack Program in Youngstown city schools.

What: Winter gala fundraiser on the theme, “Open Your Hearts and Help the Less Fortunate.”

When: Feb. 15 with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails (with cash bar available) at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner at 7 with filet mignon, pasta, chicken, salad and dessert.

Where: Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave., Boardman.

Prizes: More than $3,000 in prizes including a $1,000 cash prize will be awarded. There also will be a silent auction featuring gift baskets, sports memorabilia, art and more. There also will be a 50/50 raffle.
